THE BEST OPTIONS FOR TROUBLED TEENS
Abundant Life Academy
Athletic Restoration
We serve good kids that have been making uninspired and really unhealthy choices. These choices that your teens have made has often eliminated or undermined their greatest God given gift – athletics. Their dream of attending a college or university on an athletic scholarship is vanishing. Essentially these troubled boys are throwing away their gifting and their future. Most are not motivated by academics (and often academically ineligible), skipping school, sneaking out, perhaps wrapped up in drugs and alcohol. These student athletes are hanging out with the wrong crowd, going in the wrong direction. Most are struggling in school and their hope for a shot at college ball is disappearing fast. Many no longer care and have given up on themselves and their loved ones, becoming victims of their own poor choices. At Abundant Life Academy we revive their gifts and put student athletes back on the road toward college and a powerful future.
Year-Round Enrollment
“Many young men are called to glorify God through the gift of athleticism. God has gifted them athletically so that they can take center stage and proclaim their faith in Jesus Christ, giving Him all the glory. Unfortunately the enemy of their soul has tricked them into giving up their gift in order to destroy their future. In God’s plan athletes are given exceptional gifts in order to gain a platform to tell a story about God’s plan of redemption. The truth is that today athletes are given a special place in our society, having influence to affect the lives of thousands. Often these gifted athletes are able to use their athletic exploits to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ to a lost world. At Abundant Life Academy we restore the student athlete to a powerful destiny, teaching and leading them to be a living testimony of God’s grace and redemption. The Bible declares, “the thief comes only to kill, steal, and destroy…I have come that they have life, and have the Abundant Life (John 10:10).” Craig Rogers, Co-founder of Abundant Life Academy
The typical Abundant Life Academy student athlete is a good kid (good hearted kid) who is outgoing and people oriented (very social and always looking for fun but finding trouble instead), undisciplined, unstructured, and possibly depressed (based on his poor choices for a prolonged period of time). This young man only cares about his peers and having fun. School is not important. This young man blames everyone else for his poor choices, refuses to take responsibility for his actions, lies, and thinks that his parents are killjoys. Partying is his new sport, and having fun is his new trophy. This student may be abusing drugs and alcohol, and experienced minor brushes with the law. Moreover, the ALA student athlete may have been expelled from school and is no longer eligible to participate in high school athletics. Because of the trouble he has caused this student athlete has all but given up on his dream to play high school sports. He no longer has the vision to turn his gifting into a college scholarship and a life of freedom and liberty.
